Honda Insight Man (HIM): July 11, 2011 Update

Lifetime fuel efficiency for my 2010 Honda Insight is 58.3 mpg. Since the Insight is rated at 41 mpg combined, my result so far is 42.2% better than the average for the car. Stay tuned for more updates.

News Update: Porsche Unveils Hybrid 918 Spyder

At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Porsche (PINK:POAHY) unveiled a futuristic hybrid supercar that it claims can reach 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds while emitting a fraction of the carbon output most sports cars put out. The 918 Spyder prototype is the Germany-based carmaker’s offering to the booming hybrid car market that combines an internal combustion engine with electric propulsion. Porsche claims the Spyder has a top speed of 320 km/h but uses only three litres of fuel for every 100 kilometers, or 94 miles per imperial gallon. “We are a sports car manufacturer and that means it’s about driving fast – but at the same time about cutting pollution and conserving natural resources,” Porsche Chief Michael Macht said according to the website of news magazine Der Spiegel.
